Timber-framed Additions

Uncarved Block is in the process of completing a number of additions to a house in the Berkshires.  The house features cherry, beech, and yellow birch timbers and woodworking—all milled from ice-damaged trees.  The house features many fine finishes, including:  native cherry timber trusses, stained radiant –heated concrete floors, custom cherry cabinets and built-ins,  yellow birch flooring, and an outdoor screenroom with native cherry flooring and trim.  The house is super-insulated with a SIP roof and double stud walls.  For this retirement home, Uncarved Block incorporated aging in place design principles to ensure the client’s home is fully accessible as they get older.
